Satulah Mountain Brewing Co. opened in June 2014 in the heart of Highlands, North Carolina. From our humble beginnings brewing 15 gallons of beer at a time, we expanded our pilot system to a 25-gallon brewing capacity. Then, in 2017, we expanded again to a 7-barrel brewhouse with a 60-barrel fermentation capacity.

FAQ
Do you serve gluten free beer?
Many Satulah Mountain Brewing beers are gluten-reduced, meaning we add an enzyme during production that reduces the gluten content in our beer to 10 ppm. People with severe gluten allergies should be advised that our beer still contains gluten. We do serve gluten-free cider produced by select cideries. We also have a *NEW* hard seltzer in production now. Check out our beer menu to see the current selection.
When can I come to the taproom?
The taproom is currently open Thursday-Sunday starting at 12 p.m.
How does the taproom work?
It's simple! Come on in, have a seat and order a pint. We also sell our beer in 5 oz. and 9 oz. pours, or you can order a flight of any five beers. While we no longer sell growlers we'll happily refill growlers from other breweries, as long as they're clean and carry the federally required government warning.
Can I host my event at the brewery?
We love parties! Unfortunately, we don't have much space to work with. We can still host a limited number of functions each year. Contact us to see if your event is the right fit for our space.
Can you pour beer at my event?
We can definitely pour our beer at your wedding reception or event. If your event is more than 60 days away, send us an email at [email protected].
Why don't you have much Satulah Mountain beer right now?
Our brewery is growing! We underwent a major expansion in 2017, and it wasn't without a few bumps in the road. Our system is up and running but we can only brew three beers at a time. To make sure you have plenty of beer to drink, we serve a curated selection of craft beers from Western North Carolina and farther along side our current Satulah selections. Visit our beer page to see what's available.
